Description

SOLD 1974 Plymouth Fury Sport Suburban Wagon Is Powered by the 400 cu.in Powerplant , This Wood Grained Retro People Mover is built like a Tank. see video here> https://youtu.be/xRFckpJxzLo 1970s Wagons were once parked in most driveways in the Suburbs and so many have disappeared to only reappear years later in demo derby line ups . Many of us children of the 70’s remember riding in the back 3rd seat ,some facing forward and many backwards ( insert barf bag memory here). They were yesteryears precursor to todays SUV’s whose young French fry fiends get driven everywhere in today. Back then the big three manufacturers got a couple of big points right and those were pickup trucks and station wagons. See the Proof positive in the photos of this beast. This is a 1974 Plymouth Fury Sport Suburban wagon and in all of its 400ci, wood grain paneling glory that runs and drives awesome. Only 60k miles on this Midwestern 2 owner car that was always in the garage. We cannot get over how clean the car is and how the Cragars work so great on this throwback cruiser yacht.. While certainly not a hot rod, but with upgrades already done to the engines internals by choice (upgraded torquier cam and upgraded gears) the 727 Torqueflite handles mountain hills better than stock . The 400 looks snazzy and sounds great when you look under the hood with the Edelbrock carb and intake on it, and great looking valve covers, with A/C . The interior of the car looks factory fresh and this thing has 2 extra windshield that were purchased as they are probably the last 2 in the country, owner found out a few years back with a stone crack. We would hope the interior won’t be messed with. It is just too good to be updated or customized as even the driver seat still feels firm and plush under your backside. . You’d lose all of that 1970s wagon riding charm if you took that interior and hacked on it. Plus there is typically no way to make subtle changes to something like this and have them look anything like you’d want them to. This would be a fantastic Power Tour ride or everyday summer cruiser as you would not see yourself anywhere. And if you desired to breath on it a little more with all of the speed parts available for that 400 cu in powerplant , we don’t think that making yourself 500-550 streetable, naturally aspirated power would take too much effort. We’re in love and thinking about bell bottoms and maybe watching Brady Bunch or the Partridge Family episodes tonight !
